Hello, I’m Sophia and I would like to share with you my passion for natural wellbeing.  This has been a fascination of mine for many years and I have been acquiring the skills to work with and treat you since my twenties.

​

I started out as a Birth and Postnatal Doula and accompanied many women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.  What a huge honour to be chosen to care for, mentor, prepare and support in this way!  Did you know that having a Doula with you drastically reduces your likelihood of having a caesarean section or instrumental delivery?  And it shortens your labour!  I see child birth as a natural and healthy event and love to hold the space for women who are empowering themselves to have a conscious and honoured transition from maiden to mother.  If you're looking for some help getting ready for the birth of your child, do book in for a birth preparation session.

I came across Reiki when I was learning Karate Do and I was fascinated by the idea of channelling Ki energy for the highest will and good of the person needing healing.  To advance through the higher levels of karate, it is essential that a karateka cultivate spiritual power, and the basic element of this power is ki. Ki is an amorphous, undefinable force, but it is generally described as the energy of life itself.  I am now a master of the Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage of Reiki natural healing offering treatments to all and teaching and attunement to students.

Having learned that the scented candles I so loved were actually quite harmful to wellbeing, I started experimenting with natural waxes and essential oils to make healthy, beneficial and environmentally friendly ones.   Hestia’s Flame Natural Candles is the result – luxurious aromatherapy candles, hand poured by me from 100% soy wax and pure essential oils only.

I had been using essential oils at home for a couple of decades before I decided to train formally as an aromatherpist.  This is a wonderful therapy!  The power of plants is truly amazing and I love to tailor essential oils in a bespoke blend to suit the needs of the individual be they physical, emotional or mental.

​

Scent and its power to heal us sent me off on a journey to become a Perfumer.  I really wanted to understand how to structure a perfume and how to make a scent using only natural materials.  This is a service I now offer to a few clients.

​

I chose to train as an M Technique practitioner so I could offer healing touch to people who are very fragile and for whom traditional massage is unsuitable.  It’s wonderful for everyone though – do try it because although it is very gentle, it works cumulatively and very deeply indeed on all levels and is sometimes likened to "physical hypnotherpy".  I am also a certified M Technique Instructor so do contact me if you'd like to learn this rewarding system of structured touch.

Desiring an organic and biodynamic range of skin care products to complement my aromatherapy facial massage, I chose to become a wellbeing advisor for certified natural skin care and health care organisation Weleda.  I use their award winning products in my treatments and can help you choose the items best suited to keep you – and the planet – feeling happy and well.

I am a graduate of the School of Homeopathy and hold their advanced practitioners diploma.  I am so grateful for this system of medicine and have used it for many years for my family and animals.  Are you off to any music festivals this Summer?  I'll be volunteering with the Travelling Homeopaths Collective at Glastonbury Festival so come and find me if you're poorly!
